Burgenland - Capital:

Vorarlberg - Capital:
Bregenz. The far west, between Lake Constanz and the Arlberg Pass.

Upper Austria (Oberoesterreich) - Capital:
Linz. A flourishing industrial and agricultural province crossed
by the Danube. Includes the Salzkammergut: an idyllic region
of lakes, hills and mountains, crowned by the splendid Hoher Dachstein
above the Hallstaettersee.
Lower Austria (Niederoesterreich) - The
largest of all Austria's 9 provinces, it covers a quarter of the
country. Surrounding Vienna, famous for its baroque, wine and
varied scenery.
Salzburgerland - Capital
: Salzburg. A city famous for its festivals and musical tradition;
the birthplace of Mozart. The countryside of Salzburgerland is
also alive with the sound of music, fine castles and ice caves.
Tirol - Capital:
Innsbruck. The heart of the Alps. Lush Alpine forests, wooded valleys and a strong
folklore tradition. Since 1919 the province has been divided into
two: North Tirol and the much smaller East Tirol.
Styria (Steiermark) - Capital:
Graz. Southeast. A broad spectrum of magnificent scenery, from
the rocky heights of the Totes Gebirge to the lush folding
hills of the south Styrian wine-growing district; know as the green
heart of Austria.
Carinthia (Kaernten) - Capital:
Klagenfurt. Land of lakes and mountains. Carinthia is Austria's
southern most province, between Grossglockner and the Woerther
